As of 11:43 P.M. 2-25-2025, All 5.7 PBXs have been updated to version v5.7.71. The previous update was to v5.7.70.

All Beta PBXs running on 6.0 are on the most recent 6.0 changes.

OVERVIEW

In 5.7, we have only one new bug fix having to do with permission profiles.

We will also review some changes in 6.0, including one important feature we recently added.

IN-DEPTH CHANGES

6.0

• Most of the changes applied to 6.0 this past week are in regard to the report’s pages. We fixed up some issues with report templates and improved on report pagination in the queue report.
• One important new feature in version 6.0 is the DLS staff-only settings. It is now possible to limit how frequently the status pages update their cache. This change addresses an issue discovered by the development team where the PBX experienced extreme load when there were more than 200 users and someone accessed the status page.
• Desktop Communicator now shows all fax records regardless of the fax outcome and not just those with downloadable content.
• Another Desktop Communicator bug fix of erroneous characters appearing when displaying a name with an apostrophe
• Report pagination for queue reports was redesigned.
• The report templates module was reworked
• Another bug was fixed where SIP trunks rejected calls from peers. This is no longer the case
  

5.7.71

• In this release, we fixed a bug introduced in 5.7.61. In this previous release, we added support for configuring the Help and Support side tabs permissions. However, the Admin and Default permission sets set the permissions for these two pages to “hide” by default. As a result, PBX admins could not see the Hide and Support tabs and could not update the admin permission profile since that is explicitly not configurable. This is now resolved. By default, the “Admin” and “Default” permission profiles are set to show all resources within the “Help” and “Support” tabs. A client reported this issue.

OTHER

We don’t have any more pending releases to 5.7. This is because 6.0 is almost here! There will most likely be no more updates to 5.7 unless a bug is very service impacting.

Lastly, the current Beta 6.0 systems will still experience this permission issue until the recent 5.7.71 changes are ported to 6.0 next week
