Dear DLS Customer,
As of 11:37 P.M. on April 1, 2025, all 5.7 PBXs have been updated to version 5.7.80 (previously 5.7.77), and all 6.0 PBXs have been upgraded to version 6.0.8 (from 6.0.6).
OVERVIEW
In version 5.7, we introduced several quality-of-life (QOL) improvements to the Campaign Registry page to help users and support teams more easily manage and maintain compliant SMS campaigns. Sadly, this is a constant work in progress as Campaign Registry rules and API requirements constantly change.
In version 6.0, all changes from 5.7 were included, along with a few additional updates and a new feature.
NEWLY UPGRADED PBXs
Upgrades remain paused this week while we address several issues currently affecting some clients. Please see the “Other” section below for more information on pending fixes and upcoming improvements.
We’ll notify everyone when the regular upgrade schedule resumes.
IN-DEPTH CHANGES
6.0
6.0.8
- FEATURE / IMPROVEMENT: A new Device column was added to the Apps → Handset Reboot table. This column displays the vendor and model for each handset, and works with the table’s search filter. For example, searching “Polycom” will show only Polycom devices, which can then be selected for bulk reboot.
- BUG FIX: Resolved an issue on the Users → Status page where extensions with an auth-id matching their extension number were incorrectly shown as Unmonitored, even with SIP Options enabled. (PBX-3394)
- IMPROVEMENT (Staff Only): A countdown timer has been added to the Users → Status page, showing when the next status refresh is expected. This is helpful for large PBXs where refresh delays may cause confusion.
6.0.7
- BUG FIX: Fixed the Polycom Do-Not-Disturb (DND) issue where the DND hard key failed to enable server-side DND on the PBX. ⚠️ Note: The required Asterisk patch is currently applied only to a few large systems for monitoring. All 6.0 PBXs are now eligible for this fix, but it is not automatically applied with version 6.0.7. Contact support if the issue persists. (PBX-3358)
- BUG (Staff Only): The Console (Staff) page is currently non-functional in this release. (PBX-3177)
5.7
5.7.80
- IMPROVEMENT: The Campaign Registry table now displays the submission date of each campaign.
- IMPROVEMENT: Clicking a brand or campaign under System → SMS → Campaign Registry now takes you directly to the edit form, eliminating the need to click an additional button.
- IMPROVEMENT: You can now include special characters such as ‘ (single quote), ; (semicolon), \ (backslash), ” (double quote), and / (forward slash) in the Opt-In, Opt-Out, and Reply messages—allowing URLs and more flexible formatting.
5.7.79
- BUG FIX: Resolved an issue where the User API Documentation would not load under Support → API (User) for white-label PBXs. Reported by a client. (PBX-3412)
5.7.78
- IMPROVEMENT: On the Apps → Voicemail page, we now detect when incorrect permissions exist on voicemail directories. This issue can prevent the visibility of some voicemail files, especially for older users. If this proves widespread, we’ll implement a mass fix. (PBX-3402)
- IMPROVEMENT: A new DCA Status column was added to the Campaign Registry to help users track the approval status of their SMS campaigns. Editing a campaign will automatically resubmit it to the DCA for re-approval.
- IMPROVEMENT: The Sample and Embedded Text fields in the Campaign Registry now support longer inputs, allowing more detailed campaign descriptions.
OTHER (Upcoming Fixes)
We have several additional improvements underway. Here are some high-priority issues currently in progress:
- PBX-2766: Conferencing Reports are not yet working in 6.0. A fix is in progress and expected by next week.
- PBX-3408: Call Pickup on Polycom handsets is not functioning in 6.0. This may require an Asterisk patch. We’re investigating alternative solutions first.
- PBX-3415: Parked calls are dropping after timeout. A fix has been completed and is currently under review for release this week.
- DTC-66: A fax report bug affecting users whose auth-id matches their extension number has been resolved and is pending final review.
- PBX-3392: UI improvements to the SMS → Quick Setup page are in review and should be released next week.
Thank you for choosing DLS. If you have any questions about these updates or would like help with any of the new features, our team is here to assist.
